The Safeguarding

PERIOD 621 AHR
REIGN King Aiga I Fritz

History

After the effects of the false monarchs taking the throne and assassinating King Olaf II Fritz, it grew painfully obvious that the King was growing to be even more of a target, and there were likely still loyalists to the Lange-Fritz lineage, therefore, the Heir to the Throne gained consistently more authority and power, growing to be a bit of a figure-head who handled public affairs more often than not, and became trained in defensive situations as needed. This became a public plan in a rare public appearance where King Aiga I Fritz discussed defense plans following years of discontent between the monarchy and citizens. The royal maids within the palace began noticing more heavily guarded private meetings between the two, as well as various silent cart rides away from the palace.

Heirs began to work directly alongside the military in combative missions, having been trained by the best of the best in order to be a direct right hand to the king, both in duty and in defense, as well as intel gathering. Even in the most minor of public appearances, it appeared as if they were extremely on edge at all times, though, despite it all, it always appeared as if the Heir was fully prepared for whatever came, and the role came to grow alongside a persona of being an impenetrable wall.

Whatever the Crown was doing worked though, as years of safety for the King for the most part followed. Minor attacks and conspiracies rarely occurred, and if they did happen they were squashed quickly. Rumors circulated in regard to what the King could be doing, though no comment was ever made from any of the Kings or their Heirs. The more public appearances of direct members of the Monarchy were taken kindly by the citizens, though, as the Crown regularly became able to see what the people needed and could talk to them, which seemed to squash the intent of assassinations. A primary example would fall to the Heir of King Florian II Fritz, Crown Prince Ricard I Fritz, who was an active fighter for military operations, even holding an estimated twelve human kills of various enemies to the military and the crown. Unfortunately, the young prince succumbed to sudden illness in his sleep before the brave man would rise to the crown.

Present Day

Today, the Crown is an integral part of public life, and many residents of the Districts are fortunate enough to be blessed by a member of the Monarchy's presence on rare occasion. The Heir and King continue to involve themselves with the day-to-day activities of the population at large, continuing the centuries-long traditions of squashing any ill intentions towards the monarchy with positive publicity and good, honest work.
